We travelled from Manchester for two weeks, flight was good a little turbulence but nothing to major. Arrived at the airport and got to our transfer coach we were totally amazed that we booked into the hotel as we were getting on the coach so no hanging around in reception when arriving at the hotel. We were in the Veranda block room 7212. Amazing view of the other rooms and beach. Rooms were excellent very clean & the biggest bed ever, very comfortable. My only gripe about the room was being under the managers room when he had his plant pots watered water & soil came through onto our balcony which left a mess fortunately we weren't sitting on it otherwise we would have been covered! Although our maid did an excellent job cleaning it all up.
The hotel was amazing and plenty of sun beds on the beach however, these could do with replacing as you did need to have a sort through to find ones that weren't broken but the beds around the pool were very comfortable. We mainly ate in the buffet which was excellent and a huge choice of food for each meal. Most of the spirits were branded ones and there was a choice of different wines in the buffet. The Red Parrot was very nice as well. We never tried the other restaurants at the Tamarjin but other people we spoke to said that they were very good as well.
All the staff were very good and Sandra the Thomson rep was excellent. We cannot recommend this hotel & island enough our holiday was perfect. Having been to the Caribbean before we were a bit worried about being hassled on the beach as previously happened but there was none even when we walked into Orangstead there was no hassle from shop owners trying to get you to go into their shops. Taxis were cheap. If you are looking for a holiday of complete sun and relaxing this is definitely the place to go.
