Just returned from a week Nov 20-27 at the Divi Aruba Resort. My husband and I had never been to Aruba before so this was our first visit. The resort is very nicely laid out. Everyone we met who worked there were very nice and friendly. Our room was in Vista 1 and was close to everything with an ocean view and steps to the pool. There were plenty of beach umbrellas (thatched roof type) which was good because even in the shade it was hot.
The beach was absolutely gorgeous. It was wide and long with white sand and turquoise ocean which was warm to swim in.
We took an excursion around the island which was about five hours long. The meals were very good (except for Ginger, would not recommend). The Red Parrot was our favourite, the Italian Paparazzi was good. We did not eat at the Sunset Grill but ate at the buffet which was very good as well. Our last night we ate at Windows Restaurant which was simply amazing. My husband went golfing there and enjoyed seeing iguanas on the greens. I loved watching the pelicans diving into the water for fish while laying on the beach. It was quite the sight to see and most mornings and evenings you would see cruise ships coming into the main city.
Our room was always immaculate, the maids did a super job. The room was a good size and nicely decorated and the beds were really comfortable. There were no bugs to be seen anywhere, didn't even see a mosquito considering it was the raining season there. It did rain most mornings but by the time the sun came up it would stop and the rest of the day was mostly rain free.
The grounds were very well kept with beautiful plants and there were always staff seen cleaning the grounds and pool areas. The drinks from the bars were the best we have had in an all inclusive, there was much to choose from.
It was just a golf cart ride to the Tamarijn down the road, or you could walk. It seemed busier with more kids because they have the water sports down at that resort. Every evening you could see a beautiful sunset.
Overall, this was one of the best trips we have ever taken. We would recommend this resort and we plan to go back, hopefully next year.
